Why Learning Design and Technology?
During my undergraduate studies, I found myself immersed in online learning, with approximately 75% of my college experience taking place virtually. As a commuter student at the time, I had to adapt my learning style to accommodate my circumstances. Surprisingly, I discovered that online learning not only suited me but also proved to be the most successful mode of learning for me.
However, this experience wasn’t universal among my peers. Sadly, some of my friends struggled to adapt to online learning and fell behind in their studies. Witnessing their challenges firsthand deeply impacted me. I saw firsthand how this disconnect led to some of them ending their educational journeys prematurely or falling significantly behind in their academic pursuits.
It was this realization that fueled my passion for learning design and technology. I recognized the transformative potential of leveraging technology to create inclusive and accessible learning environments for all students, regardless of their backgrounds or circumstances. This passion ultimately led me to pursue a career as an education specialist, where I am dedicated to implementing innovative learning solutions that empower students and bridge educational gaps.
